Our Dream Team

Jeanine Cambra Head of School

Jeanine Cambra joined Sandwich Montessori in the spring of 2016.  Jeanine earned her Massachusetts teaching credentials following her graduation from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education.  Her love of learning lead her to pursue two additional degrees, a Masters of Education in Integrative Education from Endicott College, and her Ed.S. Reading Specialist, from UMASS Lowell.  Jeanine earned her certification as a Montessori teacher from Seacoast Center for Montessori Training in 2000 and worked as a Montessori teacher for fifteen years.  Early on in her career, Jeanine owned and operated a before and after school program, private kindergarten, and full day summer camp program.  Jeanine’s experience in education also includes working as a reading specialist and preschool – middle school principal.  She fully embraces the Montessori Method and Philosophy and has seen first-hand the impact Montessori has as she has watched her own children move through their Montessori school from preschool through middle school. Jeanine believes that her children have become the wonderful human beings they are because of the strong Montessori influence in their lives.  She is excited to be working in an environment that she is truly passionate about and can’t wait for each new day to see what amazing new things our students learn!

Sarah Cowan Education Director

Sarah is a lifelong learner and earned her Bachelor’s degree in early education before earning her Master’s degree in Reading.  She is certified by the American Montessori Society through NEMTEC as a preschool teacher and taught at Sandwich Montessori School for eleven years before pursuing a diverse career path.  Sarah gained experience working to open Montessori schools in the US and abroad, as well as early intervention work.  Those experiences helped to deepen Sarah’s understanding of Montessori in today’s world, and the growth and development of children from birth to age three—both extremely beneficial experiences in her role as Education Director at Sandwich Montessori School.   Looking to spend more time closer to her home and family in Sandwich, Sarah rejoined the school in the spring of 2018 as our Education Director.    She is a great resource for our teachers and provides coaching for our staff, works with our families to provide educational experiences that help further and deepen their understanding of the Montessori philosophy, and provides programming support for all classes.
