Current Opening

Children’s House Teacher

As a Montessori teacher you are dynamic, forward thinking, and are in awe of the wonder of children. As a Montessori teacher at our Children's House, you are connected with our mission to help develop kinder, braver, stronger human beings and to become kinder, braver, and stronger yourself.

Within our nature-focused environment, you will work with other Montessori teachers to develop and implement individualized lessons and curriculum for your students. You are excited about spending large portions of your day outdoors as you guide your students’ learning and discovery.

You will maintain the prepared classroom environment as you teach within your multi-age setting and integrate nature learning into your lessons and plans.

You will develop meaningful and lasting bonds with children and families and engage in regular observation in order to ensure your ability to follow the child and meet his or her needs.

You will meet formally with parents at regular intervals to report on progress, and you will make recommendations to parents regarding possible need for outside support services.

Ongoing Montessori and nature education training is expected and maintaining or actively working toward certification within your teaching area is a requirement.

You will be in constant communication with parents both verbally and written and will devise a regular written communication component (such as a weekly newsletter, organized email blasts, etc.)

You will also use social media/internal software to share with families and the community at large about the wonderful lessons, learning, and experiences taking place in your classroom. Taking part in community events and within the at-large community will be a component of the position, as well.

You will grow personally and professionally and the potential for growth of A players on our team is a reality.  You are positive and look for the silver-lining, know that getting better every day makes an impact on your students and co-workers, and you strive to be an example of someone who is kinder, braver, stronger every day.
