Monika Gomes, Children's House Guide

Monika has a Bachelors degree from UMass in
Early Education. She started as a substitute and assistant teacher while raising her children on Cape Cod. As she discovered the principles of Montessori, she trained and became AMS certified for 2.9-6 year olds. She has continued teaching and is passionate about building relationships with students and their families, throughout the three-year cycle, unique to the Montessori approach. Her professional development over the years has added to her understanding of and dedication to social emotional learning.

Monika has come to appreciate the change of the seasons, and values time spent outdoors with young children. She sees it as an opportunity for exploration and growth, in addition to being a space for collaboration and community building. When not in the classroom, she looks forward to going on walks with her dog, riding her bike and practicing yoga. She also enjoys listening to music and spending quality time with friends and family. Monika is excited to be part of the Sandwich Montessori School.
