2026 Activities & Programs Offered

Minecraft Masters: Redstone, Builds & Creative Challenges
1-Week Learning Intensive: June 15th - June 18th
A Minecraft week built around real game design - redstone logic, build constraints, collaborative challenges, and presentation. Children plan, prototype, and defend their work the way builders do, then walk the room through what they made and why. Capacity is capped to keep each child on a dedicated workstation with one-on-one instructional attention.
Your child takes home: a compiled screen-capture video of their build and a presenter walkthrough, sent to your family within two days of the Friday showcase.

Create Like an Artist: Paint, Print & Build
1-Week Learning Intensive: June 22nd - June 26th
A teaching-artist studio week, not an arts-and-crafts week. Children work across media with real tools and real techniques, build a portfolio they can show, and develop the artist's habit of looking carefully before deciding.
Your child takes home: a portfolio of original work - watercolor, printmaking, mixed media - plus a finished ceramic piece mailed to your family within ten days of the final firing.

Broadway Builders: From Folktale to Original Production
2-Week Learning Intensive: July 6th - July 17th
A two-week intensive that begins with a folktale and ends on a stage. Adaptation, blocking, design, rehearsal, and a real performance for a real audience. This week is offered as Full Immersion only because the work requires the full day, both weeks, beginning to end.
Your child takes home: an original ensemble role in a live theater production performed for families on the final day.

Stitch, Dye & Design: A Sustainable Textiles Studio
1-Week Learning Intensive: July 20th - July 24th
A boutique-sized textiles studio centered on natural dyes, hand sewing, and the upcycling of garments families bring from home. Capped at twelve to keep the dye bath and sewing stations workable.
Your child takes home: a hand-sewn primary project, an upcycled garment, and a design journal.

Inventors Arena: The Young Engineers Studio
1-Week Learning Intensive: July 27th - July 31st
Young inventors and problem-solvers will explore engineering, design, innovation, and creative thinking through hands-on building challenges and collaborative invention labs. Children will test ideas, prototype solutions, and develop original creations while learning how engineers approach real-world problems.
Your child takes home: prototype building, invention challenges, design thinking activities, collaborative engineering projects, testing labs, and creative problem-solving experiences.

From Farm to Table: Grow, Harvest & Eat
1-Week Learning Intensive: August 3rd - August 7th
A working food week - soil to plate, with a community farm-stand culminating event. Children plant and tend microgreens, harvest from the garden, and learn to cook real meals from scratch using what they grew.
Your child takes home: a small pot of microgreens, a jar of something cooked from scratch, and a farm journal.

Minecraft Masters: Redstone, Builds & Creative Challenges
1-Week Learning Intensive: August 10th - August 14th
A Minecraft week built around real game design - redstone logic, build constraints, collaborative challenges, and presentation. Children plan, prototype, and defend their work the way builders do, then walk the room through what they made and why. Capacity is capped to keep each child on a dedicated workstation with one-on-one instructional attention.
Your child takes home: a compiled screen-capture video of their build and a presenter walkthrough, sent to your family within two days of the Friday showcase.
Summer Program FAQs
What ages are the Summer Learning Experiences designed for?
The SMS Summer Learning Experiences are designed for children ages 7–14. Each week is intentionally structured as a mixed-age learning environment where older and younger children collaborate, mentor one another, and learn together.
Can families enroll for just one week?
Yes. Each week is designed as a standalone learning intensive, allowing families to choose individual experiences based on their child’s interests and goals. Families may enroll in one week or build a personalized summer schedule across multiple weeks.
Are the weeks connected or standalone experiences?
Most themed weeks are designed as standalone learning experiences, allowing families to choose individual weeks based on their child’s interests and goals. Children may join any week independently and still have a full, meaningful experience.
Broadway Builders is the exception, as it is designed as a two-week immersive theater experience culminating in a final performance for families at the end of the program.
What are the daily program hours?
Programming schedules are still being finalized, but families will be able to choose from morning, afternoon, or full-day options depending on the week and experience. Final schedules and enrollment details will be released soon.
Are homeschool families welcome?
Absolutely. Many of our summer experiences are especially well-suited for homeschool families seeking meaningful enrichment opportunities, hands-on learning, and creative collaboration during the summer months. We are also exploring additional homeschool-focused workshops and Brain Lab experiences throughout the season. Join our waitlist to learn more.
